Abstract: | In this paper we consider the problem of optimal subsampling of circularly bandlimited images. We show that the two facets of this problem can be formulated as constrained sphere packings, and we describe the algorithm that may be used to solve them. We also compare the resulting subsampling patterns to the more conventional rectangular subsampling and illustrate the potential savings in subsampling density. | ||
