Abstract: | This paper presents a cyclostationary approach to the Non-Data-Aided (NDA) phase and timing estimation problem for staggered or offset modulations. In particular, modulations such as offset quadrature amplitude modulation (OQAM) or minimum shift keying (MSK) are considered. The estimation procedure is based on the unconditional maximum likelihood framework under the low-SNR assumption. Asymptotically, it is found that a joint phase and timing estimator can be derived based on spectral line generation from a second-order non-linearity, similarly to the Square Timing principle by Oerder&Meyr. | ||
