Abstract: | Recent information theory has shown thatemploying multiple antennas at both sides of a wireless channelpromises enormous capacity potential. With channel stateinformation (CSI) at the transmitter, eigen-beamforming is theoptimal coding scheme to exploit this potential. However, innonstationary wireless environments, high complexity on MIMO(multiple input multiple output) channel tracking and largeamounts of CSI feedback render such an approach impractical. Inthis paper, by exploiting the wireless multipath channel structurecharacterized by the path delays and the pathdirections-of-departure/arrival (DODs/DOAs), a new space-time transmit scheme, structure-based water-filling, isproposed. Furthermore, outage capacity as the measure ofachievable performance is evaluated to confirm the proposedtransmit scheme. | ||
