Abstract: | A new decision-directed (DD) synchronization scheme is proposedfor joint estimation of carrier frequency offset (CFO) andsampling clock frequency offset (SFO) in coded orthogonalfrequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. By exploiting thedecisions provided by a Viterbi decoder and the informationavailable on all the modulated subcarriers, we report accurate estimators of residual CFO and small SFO withoutrelying on pilots. The performance analysis and simulationresults indicate that the proposed novel DD scheme achieves muchbetter performance than the conventional pilot-based schemes inboth AWGN and frequency-selective channels. | ||
