Abstract: | In this paper, we consider the distributed classification problemin wireless sensor networks. Local decisions made by localsensors, possibly in the presence of faults, are transmitted tothe fusion center through fading channels. We integrate channelcoding with the distributed fault-tolerant classification fusionapproach, i.e., the DCFECC approach. We obtain a new fusion rulethat combines both soft-decision decoding and local decision ruleswithout introducing any additional redundancy. The soft decodingscheme is utilized to combat channel fading, while the DCFECCfusion structure provides excellent fault-tolerance capability. | ||
