Abstract: | A statistical approach to distributed edge sensor detection is proposed for wireless sensor networks. Edge sensor detection is technique to decide whether a target sensor is an edge sensor based on data from its neighboring sensors. It is desirable that the computational complexity be low and the amount of data transferred among sensors be small. With some reasonable assumptions and the maximal likelihood technique, we propose both one-level and two-level decision methods to fulfill the above two constraints. | ||
